You guys have any thoughts on this one. First I like both fighters and think Cintron is going to be very good but I like Margarito here especially at last check of -112. I think he survives an early first few rounds that could be a little scary but I am going with Margarito's experience to prevail and win this fight I think a bit easier than most think once he settles in. I would like to hear your guys opinions on this one.Thanks.

toss-up....with the intangibles going to margarito.....experience....experience going deep into fights....he`s busier...he is tough, but,he can be cut....

but,the physical advantages, imo,go to cintron....he`s a very big and strong welter..wider shoulders...tommy hearns` shoulders....he should outweigh margarito by fight time....he`s the harder puncher,imo....margarito won`t have a height advantage...as he does in most fights..

and one thing that sticks in my mind is that margarito throws wide looping punches much of the time..typical mexican stuff...ganchos and hooks out the giggy....and isn`t exactly a defensive wizard...his offense is his defense, for the most part..cintron throws his punches straighter....

the wildcard?....cintron`s hand....multiple surgery on the hand since the reid fight...and the long layoff...

if the hand were not an issue...and the layoff,i`d call for a changing of the guard...i`m not all that impressed with margarito`s resume....antonio diaz....danny perez....6 heads(all with glass chins) lewis...hercules kyvelos.....

granted,he`s fought better competition than cintron....but,i don`t think that saying that this will be margarito`s toughest fight at welter is far fetched....from what i`ve seen, cintron is at least as good, and probably considerably better than any of the guys i mentioned... from what i`ve seen of him...

it`s been awhile, but,he fought tallish, come forward puncher teddy reid in his last fight....a tough fight....he`ll have margarito coming at him in this fight...

if he keeps his composure and picks his spots,i think he can hurt margarito...santos did...

alot depends on the rust and hand factors...and whether cintron keeps his composure and can counter margarito`s wide shots....he has to be composed...but also get margarito`s attention and respect...not be overwhelmed by his volume punching....

i played cintron small at +105...but,there`s to many questions...i`m not sold on margarito being a pfp type guy...i think cintron could become one......i wish he`d had a tune up to sharpen up...and test the hand...

a toss up...

thanks for the reply spinchter. This is the only thing that scares me a little about this one. However I am still going to go with a play on Margarito.

lots of sharp guys picking margarito,nickey....you aren`t the only one....

should be an excellent fight....could be fight of the year material,actually...

the winner`s stock really goes through the roof...particularly with a decisiive win...

btw....my main ppv channel has the pride grand prix listed for this time slot....maybe they are only showing the fights on their digital ppv channels...that will shut some people out....

i`m surprised they aren`t delaying one or the other....it`s usually pride that gets delayed...

who knows...

that`s silly....probably has to do with the segment they did on him on friday night fights.....people see some hype and lose their minds....

not real happy when the money shades toward me...albeit on a small wager like this one....

i think it`s a good sign for you,nicky....

could be the "fight of the year"??? Really? I don't follow boxing closely, but love a good bout. Thanks for the tip.

Not for anything, but if we kept track of every "fight of the year" we would already be into the next century. This one looks real good on paper, but then so did many others. This could end by the third round for all we know. I'm watching for sure and hoping for a good one.

I like Cintron here. Margarito has too many defensive flaws. IMO, Cintron is the all around better fighter here. Also, I believe that Cintron has enough experience to fight very well against Margarito. In other words, Margarito's experience, IMO, is a non-factor (considering the quality of competition).

The only thing that could play a role in Cintron's not fighting well here is the reinjuring of his hand.

All things considered, I would not lay on Margarito. If I were forced to choose on this one tonight, I would take Cintron (injured hand or not).

didn`t see the fights...had a heavy parlay in the pride fights going.....

was cintron just flat out dominated?........if not for the layoff and the hand issue,i would have had a decent sized wager on cintron...still lost a little...i was liking cintron...

did he freeze?...i was worried that margarito`s work rate might overwhelm cintron.....i also read he got cut....did that freak him out?....

have to say i`m a bit surprised that he was blown out....i`m not sold that margarito is a great fighter...

thanks for whatever info is provided...

Have to say Cintron really didn't get into the fight from the get go. He landed a couple hard shots here and there early. But he got cut in the 2nd or 3rd and it took him out of his game. I really don't think the cut was a factor. It was kind of in the corner of his eye not really above and they did a good job of stopping the bleeding anyway. It really didn't start bleeding again till he started getting hit with bombs in the 4th. I do think though the cut did hurt him mentally because you could see it in him that getting cut and getting cut early really bothered him. I was also suprised with Margarito's defense. He must have been working on it because it looked fairly decent.
